Game Log 1 - Experience

1. a. It is using the whole exhibition rather than just a single art piece.

b. Human dignity as our game may centre around the change of time and if there is a just transition for cultural values to come through. See picture two for our Post-it notes about it.

c. We chose digital games due to the skills we have in our team. One is a unity programmer, another a designer and another sound designer.

2. During the experience phase, we used empowered participation to understand our roles in the group. We also use it to understand our skills and how they can work together. We also used a bit of culture change to look at how places and buildings have changed over time.

3. We took inspiration from the whole display of the 1960's to now as it felt like we were walking through time and we wanted to use that feeling to brainstorm an idea that could translate that feeling into the medium of the game. We used the piece mentioned in 1.a to use the aesthetic of brutalist design.

b. We choose the game format for the reasons of 1.c.

4. a We are using the game to experience controversial items and topics in culture and challenge the stigma around them throughout the world. Due to the diversity within the group, we are able to use items and topics from outside of the EU. Doing this may challenge young people's relationships and view of the outside world.

b. We are incorporating values through the use of Human Dignity as we are discussing if Human dignity transcends through time by setting the game in the future. It may allow people in Europe have a think about how we view ancient artefacts and archaeology in general. This is as we still use ancient artaefacts to influence how our societies are structures and 'The European Way of Life'.

c. It provides new interactions by using current-day objects as artefacts.

d. It uses the material as it is showing a jump in time which is the whole theme of the exhibition.

Please contact me for further information. My written work isn't the best due to my disability. I am happy to explain more in an interview way.
